I just finished this cartoon for my friends at Dogopolis. They wanted some art to promote their twitter profile on the placeholder page for their site as they prepare for launch. I’m looking forward to seeing the site when it goes live.

This piece was created with Inkscape, the fabulously cross-platform, open source scalable vector graphic drawing program that makes me very happy on a regular basis.

It was super-lucky that I was asked to draw a dachshund, because I love them immensely.

This is a render from the vector file of the character I’m using as part of my huge sprawling new secret project. I’ll be sharing bits of it here from time to time whenever I really like how something turned out.

I was thinking of a general array of my favorite ’80s cartoons (Teddy Ruxpin, the Fraggle Rock Cartoon, The Littles, Jem and the Holograms…) and the designs that Toshiyuki Hontani did for the original PlayStation version of Grandia as I did my work on this.

This is something I produced today with Inkscape and Flash for my new demo reel, because I wanted more modern examples of my animation on show, and because I love Puffin-cat.

I’m a big fan of Puffin-Cat and I thought it’d be fun to re-imagine him in more high-budget style. For Puffin-Cat, The Movie, I’d cast the voices of: Jada Pinkett Smith, Suze Orman, and Kenny Loggins. “With over two-and-a-half hours of original music by Barry Manilow.”

Tools are: Inkscape… and… that’s it. I like Inkscape.

Here’s a short cartoon I made as a joke for a friend, who witnessed this scene with me at a restaurant recently.

I was recently commissioned to create these cartoons for a few different promotional items needed by my friends at Bugle Games. These versions will be making their way to stickers and t-shirts. New art is being created for mugs and tote bags.

Here’s something I started working on a couple days ago. Tonight I’ll do color, so I’ll post another file when that’s finished. Hope you like it; a print will be made available when the color is complete.
