I remember this cartoon very fondly. I watched it every Saturday morning as an awesome addition to other superhero cartoons of the day(ie; Space Ghost, Spiderman, FF, Mightor, Herculoids,Super 6, Birdman, Shazzan,Frankenstein Jr, Superman/Aquaman/JLA, Samson & Goliath, etc). It’s too bad it doesn’t gets its due because of today’s sensibilities. Back in the day, as a 5 yr old, I just enjoyed it for what it was to me: another great super-hero cartoon on Saturday mornings.
But, to be fair, the production values look decidedly dreadful even by the standards of the time, no? I have to confess that I remember Jem and the Holograms as being really glamorous and well-produced, but when I see it in motion these days, I shudder. Who knows what kinds of budgets and deadlines those folks were on, though.
